
A comprehensive valve overhaul and instrument calibration project for AGC Factory. TTE successfully completed a massive workload within 1 month, strictly ensuring safety, quality, and schedule criteria.
Challenge
- Technical Complexity: Control valves and safety relief valves operating in harsh environments often suffer from high corrosion rates. Accurately restoring metal components (seats, discs, spindles) to pass absolute stringent tests (e.g., Leak test, Pop-up test) required high-level expertise.
- Absolute Safety Standards: All maintenance, dismantling, and testing activities had to comply 100% with AGC factory's strict safety regulations, allowing zero tolerance for risks or incidents.
TTE Solution
1. Control Valves (48 units)
- Disassembly & Inspection: Disassembled all valves, thoroughly inspected internal parts for signs of corrosion or damage. Inspected linkages and tightened loose parts.
- Replacement & Repair: Replaced all non-metal parts. Repaired and restored damaged metal components.
- Re-assembly & Testing: Re-assembled, recalibrated, and performed rigorous final tests including Leak test, Body test, and Stroke test.
2. Safety Relief Valves (38 units)
- Overall Inspection: Disassembled and assessed the corrosion status of internal parts and inspected linkages.
- In-depth Repair: Repaired critical metal components (seat, disc, spindle). Replaced spare parts (free issued by ACVN).
- Verification: Completed re-assembly and conducted Pop-up tests to ensure absolute safe operation.
3. Measuring Instruments (Pressure & Temperature Switches - 36 units)
- Conducted pretests at the workshop for 28 pressure switches and 8 temperature switches.
- Performed calibration using specialized equipment and conducted final accuracy tests before handover.
Outcome
The project was successfully handed over by TTE exactly within the committed 1-month timeframe. The execution perfectly met the three core criteria: Schedule - Quality - Safety. All 122 devices (valves and instruments) passed technical final tests with excellent results, enabling the AGC factory to enter its next operational cycle with maximum reliability and safety.
